The Waterworks Visual Arts Center is a showcase for
new ideas and creative exploration in the visual arts. Rotating
exhibitions range from Civil War photography to the current trends
in contemporary art. The Waterworks Center is a building with a
colorful history. In the 1950's, the building served as the city
police station and jail. The jail cells are intact today and the
cell beds are used as gallery benches. Visit the Hamlin Sensory
Garden where you can experience art through touch, sound, fragrance
and sight.
